World Pharmacist Day 2025 Celebrated at AIUB

The Department of Pharmacy, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), organized a day-long program to celebrate World Pharmacist Day 2025 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, faculty members, distinguished guests, and industry leaders. The first session began with the distribution of event T-shirts, followed by a vibrant rally. Students and faculty members participated with great spirit, highlighting the crucial role of pharmacists in ensuring better healthcare for the community. Eminent personalities, including Mr. Ishtiaque Abedin, Founder Member, Board of Trustees, AIUB; Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, Member, Board of Trustees, AIUB; Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor, AIUB; along with senior faculty members and industry leaders, students joined the rally.
In the second session, the formal program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor of AIUB. The keynote session featured renowned leaders from the pharmaceutical industry who shared valuable insights on the evolving role of pharmacists in healthcare: Md. Hasanuzzaman, Head of Strategy, Roche Bangladesh Limited; Mohammad Reazur Rahman, Manager, Marketing Strategy Department, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd.; S. M. Foysal Habib, Senior Vice President (Marketing & Sales), Chronic Care Division, Beacon Pharmaceuticals Plc; and Prof. Dr. Abu Syed Md. Mosaddek, Department of Pharmacology, Uttara Adhunik Medical College & CEO, QUEST Bangladesh Biomedical Research Center. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. Md. Siddiqul Islam, Head of the Department of Pharmacy, AIUB, followed by refreshments.
During this session, Dr. Hasanul A. Hasan, Founder Member and Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, AIUB, met with the guests and shared his reflections. The event successfully reflected the Department of Pharmacy’s strong commitment to nurturing future pharmacists and fostering collaborations between academia and the pharmaceutical industry to achieve sustainable healthcare development.
