Presidency University Signs Landmark MoU with Australian Curtin University for Student Exchange & Research Collaboration

Presidency University, Dhaka has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Australian QS-Ranked Curtin University, to establish a long-term partnership in higher education and research. The occasion took place at Curtin’s Malaysia Campus, paving the way for international academic collaboration and global student opportunities.
This landmark partnership aims to strengthen institutional cooperation in joint research projects, faculty and student exchange, skills development workshops, and interdisciplinary knowledge sharing. The partnership places particular emphasis on STEM, Business, and Social Sciences, with a notable focus on Curtin’s flagship Energy Engineering Program. Through this agreement, Presidency University students, after completing their Honours degree, will gain access to postgraduate opportunities at the Master’s and PhD levels, enhancing their exposure to international academic excellence.
The MoU was signed by Professor Dr. Vincent Lee, President and Chief Executive of Curtin University Malaysia, and Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Kabir, Principal Adviser to the Board of Trustees, was present virtually.
The session was jointly coordinated by Professor Dr. Tang Fi Ee, Dean of Learning & Teaching at Curtin, and Professor Dr. MD. S. Adnan Khan, Director of Outreach and External Affairs at Presidency University.
The signing ceremony was attended by prominent academic leaders of Curtin, including Prof. Ir. Dr. Stephanie, Director of the Center for New & Sustainable Energy Research & Venture, and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Lim Chye Ing, Associate Dean for External Engagement, whereas Mr. Jahid Hasan, Deputy Director and Head of Admissions & PR, represented Presidency University at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Vincent Lee expressed his optimism, “This MoU will unlock new opportunities for both institutions and empower students with international exposure in emerging fields of research and education.”
Prof. Dr. Kabir, Principal Advisor of Presidency University emphasized the importance of an active start to the collaboration, “We are committed to ensuring tangible outcomes from day one, as we strive toward mutual excellence in academics and research.”
Prof. Dr. Khan, Director of Outreach & External Affairs at Presidency, highlighted the broader vision, “We initiated the strategic MoU with Curtin to expand our research footprint, enhance international networks, and facilitate pathways for higher studies and global career placements for our students.”
This partnership marks a significant milestone in Presidency University’s ongoing mission to provide world-class educational opportunities and develop globally competitive graduates.
