BUFT Welcomes New Students with Fresher’s Reception & Orientation Program

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) warmly welcomed its newly admitted students of the Fall Semester 2025 through a vibrant and engaging Orientation Program held on 18 October 2025 at the university’s Permanent Campus Auditorium in Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka. The program was presided over by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUFT, while Prof. Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Member of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, attended as the Chief Guest. The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BUFT. Mr. Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA, and Mr. Showkat Aziz Russell, President of BTMA, graced the event as Special Guests.
Eminent academic leaders including Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer and Dean of the Faculty of Fashion Studies; Prof. Md. Muinuddin Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies and Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences; Prof. Dr. Md. Sirajul Karim Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Textile Engineering; and Prof. Dr. Engr. Mohammad Rubayet Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Apparel Studies, also spoke at the ceremony. Two students one newly enrolled and one continuing shared their reflections and aspirations, adding a personal touch to the event. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Md. Rafiquzzaman, Registrar of BUFT.
The orientation was attended by the Controller of Examinations, Director of Public Relations, departmental Chairpersons, Director of BIFT, Director of P&D, Head of Logistics, Proctor, IT Manager, faculty members, administrative officials, new students, and their guardians. The day concluded with an informative technical session followed by a colorful cultural performance, marking an inspiring beginning for the Fall 2025 batch at BUFT.
