ISU Hosts Seminar on Make Your Teaching Visible

International Standard University (ISU) arranged a seminar titled “Make Your Teaching Visible” on 22 October 2025, Wednesday at its Mohakhali campus to enhance quality education through faculty development. The event was graced by ISU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdul Awal Khan and organized by the university’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
Dr Ahmed Mustafa, Professor, Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University Fort Wayne, USA, and Director of the Life Sciences Resource Center, attended the seminar as the keynote speaker.
Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan said that since its inception, ISU has been run by a group of highly qualified and experienced faculty members who have obtained degrees from reputed universities at home and abroad. He mentioned that the university’s IQAC has been continuously working to enhance the quality of its teachers. He advised the faculty members to actively engage in quality education and thus, meet the expectations of the students and help students to be good human beings.
Speaking at the seminar, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mustafa said research and teaching are inseparable, adding that a good teacher must also be a good researcher. “Otherwise, one remains a lecturer for life,” he remarked. He encouraged teachers to strengthen their research capacity, expand professional networks, and sharpen observational skills to build a strong academic career.
The session was Chaired by IQAC Director Professor Dr. Md. Ekramul Hoque. Among others present in the seminar were ISU Treasurer Professor H.T.M. Quader Newaz, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Professor Dr. Monjur Morshed Mahmud, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Md. Abul Kashem and Additional Director of IQAC Dr Monirul Hasan Masum. Department Heads and a large number of faculty members also took part in the event.
