UITS IQAC Conducts Seminar on Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) Accreditation Manual 2024

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS) successfully conducted a seminar on the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) Accreditation Manual 2nd edition-2024 for Accreditation of Academic Programs on September 29, 2024. The seminar, held in the Conference Room, aimed to equip faculty members and Program Self Assessment Committee (PSAC) members with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their teaching practices.
A total of 35 faculty members (10 Departments), Program Self Assessment Committee (PSAC) from Department of English, Social Work, LAW, Business Studies, CSE, IT, EEE, ECE, Pharmacy, Civil Engineering participated in the insightful session. The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of UITS, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, the Treasurer of UITS, also attended the program as a Special Guest. In addition, the IQAC Newsletter 2024 and ICIT2024 Conference Booklet were presented to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor during this occasion.
Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC, presided over the seminar and delivered an informative presentation on the Bangladesh Accreditation Council Accreditation Process, Bangladesh National Qualification Framework (BNQF), and the implementation process of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Shamima Akter, Additional Director of IQAC and Assistant Professor of Marketing, Department of Business Studies, presented on the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) Accreditation Manual 2024 & BNQF and also served as the anchor of the seminar. Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering, and Dr. Farooq Hossan, Dean, Faculty of Business, discussed the importance of accreditation.
The informative meeting covered vital topics related to the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) Accreditation Manual 2024, BNQF, and OBE implementation for Accreditation of Academic Programs. The insightful session provided valuable knowledge and practical insights to help faculty members improve their teaching effectiveness and contribute to the university's academic excellence.
